Welcome to Darrow’s Pond Retreat, the biggest and most unique rental home in Suncadia.We designed this estate home from the ground up to be a resort within the resort, including 10 bedrooms, heated swimming pool, 20 person hot tub, separate kiddie pool, two fire pits, pool table, large outdoor BBQ, back covered porch with industrial space heaters, heated walkways, and 8-kid bunk room. Did you read all of that right? Yep.
Like to cook? The home features a fully stocked chef’s kitchen with two Miele dishwashers, Wolf double-oven gas range, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, walk-in pantry with additional full-sized refrigerator, a double-faucet sink, bar near the kitchen for cocktail hour, ice maker, wine fridge, and place settings for up to 30 people.
Want to relax and take in the Cascade forest? This 8,000 square foot retreat house was built on two large lots that overlook Darrow’s Pond and the 5th hole of The Prospector Course. Three bedrooms feature private decks that take full advantage of the view and provide the perfect place for your morning coffee or that “I’m in-the-office but not really” conference call.
Nine of the ten bedrooms are en-suite each with a private bathroom and a queen or king size bed – we designed the lay-out so there is not a “bad room” in the entire house. The tenth bedroom, a 6-bed bunk room, has a large shared bathroom. If your kids are too young for the 8-kid bunk room, two of the suites include an extra day bed that are perfect for families with young children and the other suites are big enough to accommodate a blow-up mattress (some could easily fit two). One suite also features a loft for big(ger) kids that is accessible only by ladder but can easily sleep one or two kids who bring a sleeping bag to sleep in their own cool “fort.”
The large heated pool and 20-person hot tub are available year-round* and were designed for fun, fun, and more fun! The entire length of one side of the pool is a submerged “bench” that allows you to sit in the pool while enjoying your favorite adult beverage. Rather work on your tan? Then enjoy the entire width of one end of the pool that is no more than a foot deep and was made for relaxing in lounge chairs *in the water.* Got kids? No worries, so do we, which is why we built a separate kiddie pool with water spout features that is located right next to the big pool. (The entire pool and hot tub area is fenced in with a safety latch.)
Not a pool person? Need to escape the sun? Well then come enjoy the pool house that is just a few steps from the pool and was built to eliminate any need to go back inside the main house. The pool house features its own bathroom with shower, plus everything you need to tend bar poolside: an ice maker, sink, and dishwasher! Don’t feel like walking the 50 feet back into the main house to sleep? Or want your own private cabin? No sweat – the pool house (the ninth bedroom) includes a Murphy bed!!

The location of this 10-bedroom retreat cannot get much better. It is conveniently located in the heart of Suncadia and is just minutes by car from Suncadia’s many offerings (not that you’ll need them).
Details on the Hot Tub, Kiddie Pool, and Heated Pool:
For safety and the sanity of parents, the kiddie pool is open between May 1st and October 14th. The 20-person hot tub is open year-round and is kept at a balmy 103 degrees, free-of-charge. The large outdoor pool is open and heated free-of-charge between May 1st and October 14th. Outside of those dates the outdoor pool is closed, *but* we can heat it up for you and your guests to 87 degrees for the following rates (we are unable to do partial days because of the cost to heat it up):
